Description
The Cryobank of IBE preserves in liquid nitrogen, at -196 °C, the following accessions: (i) polyembryonic seeds from 24 accessions of Citrus spp. from the Medicean Collection of Villa Reale di Castello, in Florence (XVI°Century); (ii) dormant buds from 19 accessions of ancient varieties from the Veneto region, Italy; (iii) dormant buds from 3 accessions of plum (Prunus domestica) from the C.A.V.-Center of Nursery Activities of Tebano, Ravenna.

Preservation Techniques
The cryoprocedures utilized for cryopreservation are the desiccation and direct immersion in liquid nitrogen of polyembryonic seeds (Citrus) and the dormant bud technique for the conservation of uni-nodal segments of Malus domestica and Prunus domestica.
